The Good Life

Ever have those days where life just seems so good and perfect in this moment that you wish you could just stop time for a little while?  Yesterday one of those.  We didn't do anything extraordinary.  We missed church because we didn't wake up until 10:00 (ooops), so we wandered down to the neighborhood coffee shop with Ariyah and ate breakfast in the sun.  The weather was to die for - 70"s and sunny with a little breeze.  We sat on our porch and sipped tea and then cleaned the house (which desperately needed it). I made cookies and took some to our neighbor friend who just had surgery and visited with her a while, and then we spent the rest of the afternoon preparing food, going for a walk on the levy, and tending to the smoker, before having some friends over for dinner.  Now, I know that sounds rather unexciting, but these are some of the days I feel the most blessed and lucky to be alive.  To have someone that I am crazy in love with playfully helping me wash old dishes and joking about the bathroom that couldn't be ours because it's never been that clean, while Pandora cranks out our favorite tunes in the background.  With the sun coming in the windows and the doors wide open while the neighbors wander by and say hello.  These are the days that life is simply simple, and beautiful in the everydayness of it all.  I am thankful for the perfection of a quiet Sunday that God gifted us with, and ready to face the week ahead.

Thanks for sharing it! We all need those days.

But did Smackey have the molestache during the day? Didn't that make it at least a little akward?
